Proceeding pursuant to CPLR article 78 (transferred to this court by order of the Supreme Court at Special Term, entered in Albany County) to review a determination of respondent which dismissed petitioner from his employment as a sergeant in the New York State Police. A licensed firearms dealer from 1966 to January 1, 1976, petitioner was a sergeant in the New York State Police and for 17 years had been a member of the New York State Police when, in June of 1976, three disciplinary charges were brought against him.
