The facts out of which this suit grew are these: The defendant in error, who was plaintiff below, and will be in this opinion so called, was on July 22, 1898, a youth in his seventeenth year. This at least is the nearest approach to certainty concerning his age which the record shows. His counsel in their argument say he was one week under sixteen. He had worked for the plaintiff in error, called hereafter the defendant, for the two years before that date. The defendant was a corporation operating a box factory on Goose Island in Chicago.
