Few rulings in a bankruptcy case generate more outrage from the public, anxiety among attorneys, and tribulation for judges than the compensation of officers of an estate pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 330. 1 This opinion attempts to clarify three disputed compensation issues by establishing guidelines that may aid future applicants and, in so doing, alleviate a measure of the concern generated by fee rulings.
