Mrs. Annist Elizabeth Chappelear, as the beneficiary in a life-insurance policy issued to her brother, James N. McDonald, by the American National Insurance Company, instituted suit against the insurance company after the death of her brother, and after she had been paid the face value of the policy, to recover a sum representing the “double indemnity” provided for in the policy.
