John Johnson was convicted of the offense of misdemeanor grade involuntary manslaughter. OCGA § 16-5-3 (b). He was sentenced to probation for a period of 12 months, conditioned in part upon successful completion of a 120-day program of confinement in a special alternative incarceration — probation boot camp — unit of the Department of Corrections. He was also ordered to remain incarcerated in the county jail until his acceptance into the boot camp program.
