Defendant, Lester Zeisler, filed a post-conviction petition on March 23, 1987, alleging that his 1981 conviction for aggravated arson (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, par. 20 — l.l(aXl)) should be reversed based on our decision in People v. Johnson (1986), 114 Ill. 2d 69, which held section 20 — l.l(aXl) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev.
