This criminal appeal by the State of Louisiana arises from the Fourth Judicial District Court, Parish of Ouachita, State of Louisiana. Defendant Eric Dominic Nabors was charged with second degree murder in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1 and was convicted by a unanimous jury of second degree murder. Nabors filed a motion for post verdict judgment of acquittal. The trial court modified the jury's verdict, found Nabors guilty of the responsive verdict of negligent homicide, and sentenced him to serve five years at hard labor.
