The defendant appeals1 from the judgment of conviction,2 rendered after a jury trial, of kidnapping in the first degree as an accessory in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-92 (a) (2) (A)3 and 53a-8 (a),4 assault in *466the first degree as an accessory in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-59 (a) (l)5 and 53a-8 (a).
