On October 12, 1971, a complaint and warrant were issued charging defendant with the October 9, 1971, armed robbery of a Grand Rapids motel. Following his preliminary examination on October 18, 1971, defendant was bound over to circuit court. An information charging defendant with armed robbery was filed on October 21,1971, and on the following day, defendant stood mute at his arraignment on the information.
