The plaintiffs, husband and wife, brought this action to recover damages sustained when an automobile operated by Zofia Maciejewska and owned by her husband collided with a truck owned by the named defendant and driven by its employee, the defendant Albert Stevenson. In their complaint, the plaintiffs alleged that the accident was caused by Stevenson’s negligence, and the defendants pleaded contributory negligence on the part of the named plaintiff as a special defense.
