The return in the case before us admits that the relator Avas collector of revenue for Franklin county during the time alleged in the alternative writ, and as such collected sixteen hundred and twenty-four dollars taxes-assessed for the State for the ■ year 1886, the sum of twelve hundred and ninety-tAvo dollars taxes assessed for the State for 'the year 1887, fifteen hundred and fifty-eight dollars and fifty-two cents state license tax: *487for 1886, and the sum of ■ three hundred and ninety-four dollars and sixty-six cents state license tax for-the year 1887.
