The defendant1 was convicted under an indictment charging him with being unlawfully engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery and holding himself forth as a practitioner of medicine and surgery; assuming the title of doctor of medicine and surgery; unlawfully assuming to diagnose and treat disease by the use of medicine and surgery, without first having received a certificate of licensure from the Bureau of Medical Education, etc., as required by the Act of June 3,1911.
Stripped of immaterial matters, it is conceded that this defendant for the past thirty years…
