¶ 1. Charlie Sawyer was convicted in the Circuit Court of Hinds County of armed robbery, in violation of Mississippi Code Annotated section 97-3-79 (Rev.2006), and of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, in violation of Mississippi Code Annotated section 97-37-5 (Rev.2006). Sawyer was subject to enhanced penalties as a habitual offender under Mississippi Code Annotated section 99-19-83 (Rev.2007).
