BRADFORD, District Judge.

On the'third of March, 1875, the schooner Ellen Holgate, *510■of about two hundred and fifty tons burthen, was run into and sunk in the Delaware bay, about two miles below Reedy Island lighthouse, by the steamer Illinois, both vessels •coming up the bay at the time. The injury received was a very severe one, the schooner sinking almost immediately from the effect •of the opening made in her hull by the bow of the Illinois.
