Jim Voss (hereinafter “Voss” or “Plaintiff’) filed suit in the Circuit Court of Fayette County against Shelter Mutual Insurance Company, Shelter General Insurance Company, and Shelter Life Insurance Company of Columbia, Missouri, (hereinafter “Shelter” or “Defendant”) seeking damages allegedly caused by a breach of contract, wrongful termination of agency agreement, retaliatory discharge, and libel and slander.
