Linda Singletary purchased life insurance for herself and her husband through her employer, United Parcel Service. Her husband, Timothy Singletary, was an active-duty soldier in the United States Army. He was killed in a weekend motorcycle accident while off base and not on duty. Prudential Insurance Company of America denied his widow’s claim pursuant to an exclusion for active-duty servicemen. Mrs. Singletary brought suit, claiming she had no notice of the exclusion and that the exclusion is otherwise unenforceable. The district court granted summary…
