This is a suit at law, brought in the United States District Court for the' Eastern District of North Carolina, by the plaintiff in error, against the defendant in error, hereinafter referred to as plaintiff and defendant, to recover the sum of $8,470.50, on account Of a certain draft drawn by A. C. Norwood, president of the defendant bank at Golds-boro;- N. C.,- on the First National Bank of New York, dated originally March 29, 1918, for the sum of $6,' payable to the order of N. L.
