OPINION

MURPHY, Chief Justice.

Robert and Glenda Cammack (“the Cammacks”) brought this wrongful death and survival action against Ford Motor Company (“Ford”). The Cammacks claimed that Ford’s negligence and the defective design of Ford’s Bronco II caused the death of their twenty-one year-old daughter, Jennifer. The case was tried to a jury, which found in favor of the Cammacks on both claims and awarded $25 million in actual and punitive damages.
