I. PROCEDURAL HISTORY
This lawsuit involves a dispute between plaintiffs Merryl and Robert Weiss and defendant Allstate, their homeowner’s and flood insurer. Plaintiffs’ home, which was located in Slidell, was allegedly rendered a total loss by Hurricane Katrina. The facts of this lawsuit are set forth in greater detail in Weiss, et al. v. Allstate Ins.
