The plaintiff, Second New Haven Bank (the Bank), secured a judgment by confession against the defendant, Kobrite, Inc., a corporation (Kobrite). In a citation proceeding it sought to recover the balance due on the proceeds of a fire insurance policy issued to Kobrite by the defendant insurance companies, United Fire & Casualty Company, Downers Grove Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, and Addison Farmers Mutual Insurance Company (the Insurers), covering Kobrite’s premises and property which had suffered a fire loss prior to the…
