The claimant was a private in the Capitol police from July 1, 1875, to June 30,1876, both inclusive, and has received the full amount of compensation for that service, $1,400, as appropriated by. Congress in the “Act making appropriations for the legislative, executive, and judicial expenses of the Government for the year ending June 30,1876, and for other purposes,” approved March 3, 1875 (18 Stat.
