CALABRIA, Judge.

Thomas E. Wright (“defendant”) appeals judgments entered upon jury verdicts finding him guilty of three counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. We find no error.

I. Background

Defendant was a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives and the president of The Community’s Health Foundation, Inc. (“the Foundation”). In the spring of 2002, defendant approached Ronnie Burbank (“Burbank”), a commercial lender with Coastal Federal Bank, and requested a loan to purchase property at 926 North 4th Street in Wilmington, North Carolina for the Foundation.
