KING, Associate Judge:

This is a direct appeal by Terrence E. Bell from convictions for two counts of felony threats 1 and one count of simple assault. 2 We summarily reject all the substantive challenges Bell raises; 3 however, we will address in some detail, a jurisdictional issue that has been presented. Although the procedural history is somewhat unusual, we conclude that we do have jurisdiction to consider this appeal. Therefore, we affirm.
