Appellant Stephen Lars Morris was charged with the first-degree felony offense of aggravated assault of a family member by causing serious bodily injury with a deadly weapon. Without an agreement as to punishment, Morris pleaded guilty to the reduced second-degree felony offense of aggravated assault of a family member with a deadly weapon.
