{1 In 1991, American Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company (ASL) was placed in receivership. Efforts to rehabilitate ASL were not successful. In 1997, the trial court ordered it liquidated. Interve-nors/Appellants, David J. Nicholas Insurance Company, Inc., David J. Nicholas, and The Nicholas Equity Holders of American Standard life Insurance Co.
