The Claimant, an inmate with the Illinois Department of Corrections, seeks judgment against the Respondent, State of Illinois, in the sum of $180,000 in compensation for personal injuries sustained by the Claimant while playing basketball at the Joliet Correctional Center. The Claimants complaint contends that on July 20, 1990, at 2:00 p.m., he was playing basketball in the west segregation yard.
