I. INTRODUCTION

The Petitioner, Jules Letemps, was convicted of sexual battery and kidnapping on November 21,1989. The conviction, which was primarily based on the victim’s identification of Letemps as the man who attacked her, came despite his testimony *1219(and that of his live-in girlfriend and a roommate) that he was at home and in bed when the attack occurred.
