JOHNSON, Circuit Judge:
In 1987, five tenured professors, the appellants,1 were transferred from the Mechanical Engineering Department (“the ME Department”) at Auburn University to other engineering departments at Auburn. In this appeal, they challenge the district court’s grant of summary judgment in favor of four members of the University1 administration, the appellees,2 after the district court found the appellants’ claim that the transfers violated their due process rights under 42 U.S.C.A. § 1983 lacked merit.
