Defendant was charged with assault with intent to commit murder (MCLA § 750.83 [Stat Ann 1962 Rev § 28.278]), and with carrying a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle (MCLA § 750.227 [Stat Ann 1962 Rev § 28.424]). After trial the jury returned a verdict of guilty of felonious assault 1 and “illegal possession of [a] firearm.” Defendant was sentenced for felonious assault and for carrying a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle. This appeal is taken as of right.
