This case comes on appeal following a jury verdict finding defendant guilty of forgery. Defendant was sentenced to Vi to 4% years’ imprisonment in the penitentiary.

Craig Ewald, a loan officer at the Bank of Illinois in Normal, testified that in October of 1973, he made an *1800 loan to defendant after defendant’s brother, John, co-signed the note.
