GIVAN, Chief Judge.

Appellant was charged with Infliction of Injury While Attempting to Commit Robbery. He was tried before a jury and found guilty. He was sentenced to a forty year term of imprisonment.

The facts are as follows. On December 26, 1981, at around 5:00 P.M. appellant entered Mac's Furniture Store in Muncie. He was waited on by the store's owner, Howard McCormick, and inquired about the purchase of some bedroom furniture.
