Nam Nhu Tran was tried by a jury and convicted of two counts of armed robbery and one count each of aggravated sexual battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Following the denial of his motion for new trial, Tran appeals. He contends that the trial court erred in its response to a question from the jury and that his trial counsel was ineffective in numerous respects. For reasons that follow, we reverse.
