HOFFMAN, Judge:

This appeal concerns the lower court’s modification of its earlier custody award. Because we determine that there has not been a change in circumstances sufficient to require a custody modification, we reverse the order of the lower court.

Michael, the child in question, was born on September 27, 1976. The parties separated in August or September of 1979. 1 Michael has resided with appellant, his father, since the separation, and on June 12, 1980, the lower court formally awarded custody to appellant.
