The People of the State of Illinois brought an action of debt in the circuit court of Cook county against the First National Bank of LaGrange to recover a sum of money alleged to be owing by the bank for the taxes levied on its shares of capital stock for the year 1930. The defendant interposed the plea of nil debet and, after a trial, judgment was rendered against it for $3247.92 and costs. The bank prosecutes this appeal.
