Appellee, Mrs. Betty Snowden, was injured while riding as a passenger in a taxicab owned by appellant-defendant, Beverly C. Rawlings, and driven by appellant-defendant Junior Reynolds. The taxicab was being driven west on Highway 80 about two miles west of the city limits of Meridian. At the same time George Benison was driving west on the same highway in a Mercury automobile and at a high rate of speed. He ran into the rear of the taxicab and was killed in the accident.
