This is an action instituted by Sam Goldstein, administrator of the estate of Rose' Schuman, deceased, plaintiff appellee (hereinafter for convenience called plaintiff) against Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, a corporation, defendant appellant (hereinafter for convenience called defendant) in the city court of the City of East St. Louis, to recover upon a life insurance policy and an accidental death benefit issued by defendant to one Abe Schuman who died from gunshot wounds on July 10, 1938.
