The case shows that a wooden bridge about twenty feet long, without guards or railings, was situated in defendant town between the plaintiffs farmhouse and a bar-way that led into his meadow. On the day of the accident, Sept. 19, 1903, the plaintiffs son, who was his tenant, led two horses across the bridge to the meadow, a blind mare following them. After turning them through the barway, without putting up the bars, he walked back towards the house, which was about twenty rods distant.
