This suit arises out of an automobile accident which occurred on December 19, 1966, at approximately 7:45 A. M. at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 22 with the Airline Highway (U.S. 61) in Sorren-to, Louisiana. Plaintiff-appellee, Alma B. Carpenter, was driving in a westerly direction on Highway 22 toward Sorrento, and defendant-appellant, Ernest A. Landry, was driving in a southerly direction toward New Orleans on the Airline Highway.
