CARNEY, Justice.
I. INTRODUCTION
In 2012 John “Scott” Hockema filed for divorce from his wife, Janet Hockema. The superior court divided the marital estate equally and awarded Janet, who had been a homemaker throughout most of the marriage, spousal support for six years.
