JOHNSON, Circuit Judge:
This case arises on appeal from the district court’s judgment limiting the defendants' liability under the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, 46 U.S.C.A. App. §§ 1300-15 (“COGSA”), and from the district court’s *937order granting the defendant Mar Shipping Line, Inc. (“Mar”) attorneys’ fees and prejudgment interest on its cross-claim against the defendant A. Bottacchi, S.A. De Navegación (“Bottacchi”).
