On April 26, 1968, plaintiff filed for divorce, alleging Lawrence Banner’s extreme and repeated cruelty. Lawrence denied plaintiffs allegations and counterclaimed, alleging plaintiffs extreme cruelty. After various interlocutory proceedings, a hearing for the receipt of proofs was scheduled for December 2, 1969. On that date plaintiff requested an adjournment to permit amendment of her pleadings to properly raise the issue of reconciliation. Lawrence denied any reconciliation and objected to an adjournment.
