Appellant, Daniel B. Stewart, filed his petition for a writ of mandamus in the circuit court of McLean county against appellees, the highway commissioners of the town of Anchor, to compel them, as such highway commissioners, to enter an order reducing the width of the highway from 60 feet to 40 feet where it passes across his land immediately adjoining the village of Anchor.
