Porter Moss, a brick mason by occupation, lost tbe fourth and fifth fingers on his right, and the fifth finger on his left hand, while working for Nathan Levin in the construction of the new courthouse building in the Parish of Lafayette. These fingers were practically mashed off. Amputation near the hand was necessary and performed immediately following the accident. The fourth finger on his left hand was so badly injured in the accident that it remains stiff, greatly weakened and is of no use.
