Appellant, William Chapin (Father), appeals the portion of the trial court’s dissolution decree awarding custody of the parties’ minor child, Rachel, to Respondent, Stacie Chapin (Mother). Father argues that the trial court erred: (1) in failing to appoint a guardian ad litem for the child during the course of the trial once evidence of abuse was presented to the court, and (2) in awarding primary physical custody to Mother when, he asserts, the weight of the evidence showed that it was in the best interests of the child that he be given primary custody.
