OPINION

PEAY, Judge.

The defendant was indicted on September 21, 1994, for the second-degree murder of Shirlene Miller. After five days of trial, a jury convicted him of the indicted offense. A sentencing hearing was held, and the defen dant was sentenced to twenty-five years in the Tennessee Department of Correction.

In this appeal as of right, the defendant raises the following issues:

1. The evidence was insufficient to support the jury’s verdict of second-degree murder.

2. The trial court’s instructions to the jury regarding “cause of death” were improper and should result in a new trial.
