This is an appeal from a judgment of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (Spatt, /.), awarding attorney’s fees and costs pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-5(k) in a gender-based employment discrimination action. Plaintiff-appellant-eross-appellee Mary Ann Luciano, the prevailing party in this action to whom fees were awarded, contends principally that the district court erred in calculating a fee based on the prevailing rates charged by competent employment discrimination lawyers in the Eastern District, rather than the higher prevailing…
