HOFFMAN, Presiding Judge.
On June 1, 1977, St. Joseph County Sheriff Dean Bolerjack suspended Corporal George J. Hardesty from the St. Joseph County Police Department pending investigation of alleged violations of established rules and regulations.1 In addition, Boler-jack filed written charges with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Merit Board (the Board) seeking the suspension, demotion, or discharge of Hardesty.
