From 1993 to 2012, New York City’s Board of Education (the “BOE”) required all applicants for public school teaching positions to pass a qualifying examination called the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test, often referred to as the “LAST.” There were two incarnations of the exam: the LAST-1, administered from 1993-2004, and the LAST-2, a significantly revised version ■ administered from 2004-2012.
