At trial, Carl Williams, general manager of the TV Engineers shop in Kenosha, testified that about midnight on June 9, 1975, he was called to the shop by police because the burglar alarm had gone off. He found the lock on the door to the antenna shed behind the shop had been pried off and the door was open. An inventory taken the next day revealed that several items were missing. Two of these items were found by police on the ground several feet from the shed and a third was found in the alley.
