After a lengthy trial in the late fall of 2002, the jury found for the plaintiffs on all their claims against the defendant Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. (Merrill Lynch). These claims included aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, aiding and abetting conversion, and violation of both the New York and Connecticut consumer protection statutes.
